Mapping Technology Leader RealBird Releases Full Google Maps Integration
RealBird’s Online Maps are now available with full and seamless integration with Google Maps and Google Earth Viewer.
As an industry first, RealBird, Inc., a leading provider of online maps and GIS tools tailored for the real estate industry announced today that its mapping service, including its recently released Map-based Search tool is now available with seamless integration with Google Maps and Google Earth Viewer.
The integration applies to all three RealBird services:
1) RealBird Map Link: each listing linked to a map, manually or IDX based
2) RealBird Featured Listings: listings are displayed as interactive hotspots with photos, multimedia and URL links, manually or IDX based
3) RealBird Map Search: listings are displayed as interactive hotspots and can be searched with a form-based search tool or browsed visually on the map.
The integration facilitates the easy addition of online RealBird maps (street, aerial, topo and Google maps) to any points of interest database, including IDX and MLS listings databases using the RealBird API (application programming interface). The integration with Google Maps and the Google Earth Viewer allows brokers, agents and IDX providers to configure their maps any way they want. All listings data and user interactions are carried through to all map layers automatically. For an example please see http://www.johnshroyer.com and click on ÂÂAerial MapsÂÂ.
This development is an industry first, as all Google Map integrations announced so far are in-house custom developments for a particular database or client. RealBird is the first off-the-shelf publishing tool, which offers agents and brokers the flexibility to publish their listings on a variety of online interactive maps.
RealBird’s service (http://www.realbird.com) already includes street, aerial and topographical maps, agent or broker-branded driving directions and various visualized data layers, with interactive hotspots that can be linked to photos, websites or virtual tours leading to a superior home buying experience. RealBird’s recently announced map-based search service couples the traditional, form-based search with the ability to browse listings on a street or aerial map. A recently added feature allows users to measure distances and areas on street or aerial maps. RealBird maps are now deployed at over 10,000 real estate websites.
